Long Term Care:

Our advice extends to include both pre funding, and immediate Long Term Care arrangements.

· Approximately half the people over 65 have a long standing illness and two thirds of these are limited in their daily activities (Source: General Household Survey, 1994)

· The lifetime risk of admission to permanent residential / nursing home care for elderly people in England is 18% for a man and 36% for a woman at age 65 (Source: Survey of Admission to Residential Care - University of Kent)

· At some time, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men retiring today will have a level of disability that will require full long term care (Source: Swiss Re Estimate, 1997)
